Michelle Hill, OTR/L, an Occupational Therapist with over 16 years of experience graduated from  Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical   College of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.  She is the owner of   Empowering Therapy Services which provides therapy services to Wilson and Smith County School Systems, the Tennessee Early Intervention System and private pay families.  Michelle is also the founder and Executive Director of Empower Me Day Camp, a non-profit organization serving children with  disabilities.  She and her husband John have a son, John Reed, and a daughter, Rylee Day.         

Karyn Kurth, PT, graduated from the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1985 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.   Karyn has worked in a variety of settings including Acute Care, Geriatrics and Pediatrics.  She is the Rehab Medicare Consultant for Rehab America, overseeing reimbursement and billing issues in over thirty facilities and is directly involved in program development.  She has been the Physical Therapist in Smith County School System for eight years and is the Administrative Services Coordinator with Empowering Therapy Services.  She and her husband Jeff have three daughters, Alicia, Megan and Kristen who are very active in sports and school. 

 Holly LeMay-Cranor graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in June 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy.  Prior to graduation, she completed two internships one being at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio and the other at The Rehabilitation Center, an Easter Seals facility, in Evansville, Indiana.  After graduation, she worked at various acute and long term care facilities in Southern Illinois and then pursued her passion in pediatrics by working as a home-based Early Intervention therapist.  Since moving to Tennessee, she worked for five years as the lead Occupational Therapist on the Physical and Nutritional Management Team in two state run in-patient MR/DD facilities.  In 2005, she became a full-time instructor in Nashville State Community College's Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, where she is still currently serving as an adjunct professor.  During her tenure at Nashville State, she was selected for publication in Who's Who in Collegiate Faculty 2007.  In keeping with her passion for children, she has worked in the Wilson County School System since August of 2007.  She and her husband Steve have one daughter, Addison who is 17 months old, and currently reside in Lebanon.  She states, “I feel very fortunate to be able to return to pediatrics full time and look forward to serving the children and families of Wilson and surrounding counties”. 

Amber Ackerman Cooks attended The University of Tennessee-Knoxville (where she received a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2002) and Tennessee State University (where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology).  Her professional experiences include working with preschool and high school students in school systems in the states of Michigan and Tennessee, working in homes/daycares with the birth- 3 population, and providing therapeutic services to the geriatric population in the home health setting.  She has also served as clinical supervisor to graduate students in the Speech Pathology program at Tennessee State University.  Her therapeutic experiences have led her to work with a variety of populations and needs such as language disorders, articulation impairments, fluency difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, and many more.
